Three women and a space
The Fundació Joan Miró reproduces three exhibitions by female artists who, between 1970 and 1980, exhibited at Espai 10.
Fina Miralles, Susana Solano and Eva Lootz. All three are women artists who showed their work between the 1970s and 1980s at the Joan Miró Foundation in Barcelona and, more specifically, in a space that has now lost its exhibition function, the former Espai 10. Other spaces in the centre are hosting the exhibition '‘Entre Dos Patis. El pas de Fina Miralles, Susana Solano i Eva Lootz per l'Espai 10!’, which reproduces the three exhibitions that featured these artists decades ago.
Today the Fundació Miró dedicates a room to the most emerging proposals on the art scene, a Espai 13 that is, in fact, the successor of the former Espai 10. Today, it is occupied by the Foundation's shop, but in former times it was an open-plan exhibition room with large back walls that opened onto the olive tree courtyard on one side and the carob’s courtyard on the other. Hence the title of an exhibition that reviews in feminine terms the activity in that space located between those two courtyards.
Martina Millà, head of exhibitions at the Fundació Joan Miró, will curate the exhibition, which occupies rooms 17, 18 and 19 of the Fundació and which serves to close the celebration of the forty-fifth anniversary of Espais 10 and 13 and, It also serves as an introduction to the exhibition commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of the Fundació Joan Miró (from 11 June to 29 March next year), which will take place this 10 June.
