What do you know about personalized medicine or genomic revolution? Cosmocaixa invites us to discover it in a special activity during Easter holidays
Advances in knowledge of human genetics have helped to start a change in the way medical science is facing to diseases, since many of them, such as cancer or diabetes, are the result of alterations in the expression of many genes.
The development of scientific and technical research has initiated a transformation process that leads to a new understanding of medicine, personalized medicine, in which the challenge is set not to treat the disease but the individual who has it. How have we come to personalized medicine and can we benefit from it?
During Easter special programming, Cosmocaixa gives us the opportunity to delve into the world of personalized medicine. From 14 to 21 April they organize a workshop to learn how they have developed and applied the most appropriate therapy for each patient depending on the type of cancer, according to the alterations in gene expression of cancer cells.
