The exhibition ‘Tracking shot of smells’, available until December 13 at Casa Vicens

‘Tracking shot of smells’, an olfactory experience

Casa Vicens is hosting this exhibition for the senses until 13 December.

It doesn’t look like ‘digital’ and ‘smell’ can go hand in hand in any way, but Casa Vicens’ ‘Tracking shot of smells’ exhibition has not been bothered by the antagonism of the words. This exposition, made possible by the Fundación Ernesto Ventós, consists of a selection of videos taken from the foundation’s ‘olorVISUAL’ collection and chosen by Ernesto Ventós himself for their power to evoke olfactory memory. You can enjoy this multi-sensory experience until December 13th.

Ventós, a perfumer and collector, saw the video as a collection of images that carried him through his memories and experiences. The different works presented in the exhibition seek the activation of the olfactory memory: my dèjà vu by Juan Carlos Brancho, which evokes childhood smells such as honey and sugar, or Yellow by Alfredo Porres Pla, with a relaxing scent of sky and snow. The display is completed by Travel in by Jordi Cabestany, with scents referring to autumn, moist and the colour green, and Synesthesia by Daniel Canogar, which provides a refreshing touch with fruit scents.

Access to ‘Tracking shot of smells’ is included in the general ticket to Casa Vicens, for the price of 16 euros. You can check the centre’s opening hours here.
