Concert at Sant Pau Art Noveau

'Una nit de sardanes' at the Art Noveau Site of Sant Pau

The recital is part of the Banda Municipal de Barcelona's summer concerts.

The Banda Municipal de Barcelona is a musical institution established in 1886 and committed, since the beginning, to the spreading of Catalan music. The group has been headquartered at L'Auditori since 2007, where they play regularly without ever giving up on bringing the public close to the different registers of instrumental music, no matter the scenario. For July 29, for example, 'Una noche de cine' is programmed.

This time, the Banda Municipal de Barcelona will offer, under the baton of Carlos Ramón, an evening concert of copla compositions in the gardens of the Art Nouveau Site of the Hospital de Sant Pau.

The public will be welcome by the Sardana Juny by Juli Garreta and bid farewell 45 minutes later with the small symphonic painting Montmagastre by Manuel Oltra. In between, the repertoire will include the piece Heroica by Enric Casals, who dedicated it to the violoncellist Pau Casals, as well as other pieces by Joaquim Serra (Introducció and Aura d'Abril), Eduard Toldrà (Sol ixent y Empúries) and Pep Ventura (Per tu ploro).

The concert is free of charge, but an invitation is required. Up to two tickets per person can be downloaded through this link.
