The 1st edition of the festival, which will take place on the 1st of June, is an attempt to establish a meeting point for retro tendencies, including collectors, restorers and fashion designers

The first edition of the festival Vintage in Barcelona will take place on Sunday the 1st of June in the refurbished Encants market. The festival aims to establish a meeting point for retro tendencies and will include collectors, fashion designers, antique dealers and restorers in a festive, family-oriented atmosphere. For one exceptional Sunday the market will offer an extensive variety of goods and entertainment distributed among the fixed market stalls and one-off festival activities.

Any brand name or product that evokes a sensation of ‘retro’ is welcome and the aim of the festival is also to promote values of the past such as recycling, the promotion of family businesses and traditions. As a means of achieving this objective, the festival has the sought the collaboration of dance schools and professionals such as Justswing BCN as well as renowned sector exhibitors such as Susi Sweet and Dress (fashion) and Antic Estil and Dues Corones (furniture).

The festival day, which will begin at 10 am and end at 8 pm, will include numerous activities for the young and not-so-young alike. For example, there will be an area dedicated to music from the past and the fusion of past and contemporary sounds, with djs and live groups delving into genres such as electroswing and lindyhop as well as blues and jazz. The dance schools will also play their part, energizing the festival goers with live performances.
Vintage in Barcelona has also programmed a story-telling section for the youngest members of the family and a series of workshops for all ages where visitors can learn how to transform clothing, make classic cocktails, cut hair or the secrets of good makeup.

Access to the festival on the 1st of June in the Encants market is free.
