Facade of the Parlament of Catalunya

Virtual guided tours at the Parlament

The history and architecture of the building, as well as the work of the 135 members of parliament are explained.

The Palau del Parlament de Catalunya receives about seventy thousand tourist visits every year. The pandemic, of course, has stopped this activity, but the guides showing the outbuildings are still working. The virtual tour proposed by the institution is personalized and is accompanied by the explanations of a live guide, who introduces visitors on the other side of the screen, the history of the building, its architecture and spaces, and also what is the function and the work carried out by the 135 MPs who occupy the seats in the chamber.

It is for this reason that it is necessary to book your visit in advance. The tours, in 360º format, take place from Monday to Friday at noon, and the number of participants is limited. The session hall, the halls of lost steps and chandeliers, some commission rooms, the presidential office or the room where the Bureau and the Board of Spokespersons meet, are some of the points of the visit. Old images of the construction are also shown, from the Parliament's own archive, and at the end participants can ask questions or resolve doubts with the specialist guide.

The Parlament initiated these virtual visits coinciding with confinement in order to - as detailed on their website - "stay close to citizens". You can find more information and make your reservation here.
