Visits to the Born Centre archaeological site

Since the Born Centre Cultural opened its doors in September, visitors have been offered the choice of four guided tours: “Barcelona 1700. From stones to people”, “Until it was achieved. The siege of 1714”, “The Born Market” and the permanent archaeological exhibition.

Over The Christmas period, and up to the 4th of January, in addition to a series of special activities visitors will also have the opportunity to spend an emotional hour wandering through the 8000 m2 of archaeological ruins which depict the day-to-day life of the city towards the end of the 17th and beginning of the 18th centuries.

With the aid of a guide, visitors will acquaint themselves with the interiors of the houses and the businesses carried out therein as well as the common social practises of the day and the histories of the people who lived in each of the fifty-five houses which constitute this exhibition in which the even stones themselves have names.

The site is in an optimum state of conservation and reveals the unique nature of the urban panorama of the period, including some sections of streets which are still part of the city today. Classified as a cultural heritage site, the Born Centre Cultural is unique in Europe, providing visitors with a magical perspective on the soul of the Catalan nation throughout history.
