The Barcelona African Film Festival celebrates its 3rd edition virtually and in person.

The 3rd edition of the Wallay!, Barcelona African Film Festival, will take place between November 24 and December 6, adapting to current restrictions and making all films available to you on the FilmIn platform so that you can enjoy them from home. They will be there from November 26 to December 6 with different availabilitys. However, if the new measures allow it, most of the sessions can also be enjoyed in person at the Filmoteca de Catalunya and the Institut Français, collaborators of the festival. Wallay! has eleven films this year, five of which are premieres. The inauguration will feature Knuckle City, by South African director Jahmil X.T. Qubeka, which speaks of poverty and corruption and exposes the destructive power of traditional masculinity. It will be on the 24th at 7.30 pm at the Filmoteca de Catalunya or on the 26th, 27th and 29th at FilmIn. Some of the other titles are A Republica Di Mininus, Flatland, You Will Die at 20/Tu mourras à 20 ans and Talking about trees, stories that have had to cross many barriers to get to Barcelona, ​​both inside and outside the screen.

You can buy tickets through the festival’s website for different prices, which may include tickets for FilmIn or for face-to-face sessions. The latter are subject to pandemic prevention restrictions.
