What's behind your mobile phone?

The Aula Ambiental from Sagrada Familia Library explains in an exhibition

The exhibition, produced by Ingeniería Sin Fronteras will be displayed in the Sagrada Familia Library (Lepant, 281-283 Barcelona) until December 13, 2013.

The exhibition aims to raise awareness about the different minerals used in the manufacture of mobile phones (and most electronic devices), their origin and socio-economic and environmental context in which are extracted. While providing tools and alternatives to minimize this impact and move towards a more just and sustainable social model.

What is the lifetime of my mobile? What is planned obsolescence? What is the relationship between a mine in Galicia and my Iphone? To what situation leads the uncontrolled use of new technologies? The exhibition raises a number of questions that will be answered and discussed in a colloquium after the screening of the documentary Blood in the Mobile.

DOCUFORUM: Blood in the mobile

Wednesday, December 11th at 6.30 PM. (85 minutes. Frank Piasechi Poulsen, 2008). By Animal Latitude. Subsequent discussion with the participation of Federico Bogdanowicz, Executive Director at the Instituto Jane Goodall España.
