‘Women’, the past, present and future of women

The exhibition ‘Women, a century of change’ can be seen at the Reial Cercle Artístic de Barcelona until the beginning of October.

National Geographic brings to Barcelona the exhibition ‘Women, a century of change’, a collection of about fifty photographs from its archive that illustrate the past, present and future of women and their historical involvement. The exhibition, which has the collaboration of the City and Provincial Council of Barcelona and Gram Wilhelm, creates a global chronicle of the lives of women and those stories that have left a mark in recent years. The tour is made up of six sections – joy, beauty, love, wisdom, strength and hope – which represent the areas where women have and will have an important impact on.

Women have played an important role in National Geographic’s history, and this is demonstrated by all the female names that sign the photographs in the exhibition. Among them you will find Amy Toensing, Ami Vitale, Newsha Tavakolian, Lynsey Addario or Marisa Flórez, who is the very curator of ‘Women’. An exhibition about women made by women.

‘Women, a century of change’ will open on Monday 13th at 7.30pm and you can visit it at the Reial Cercle Artístic until October 11. The ticket costs 5 euros and you can buy it at the ticket office of the exhibition. The opening hours are from Monday to Sunday from 10am to 2pm and from 3pm to 10pm. For more information, visit the centre's website.
