Workroom Barcelona Films & Games Art Direction

From the 20th to the 22nd of February the Faculty of Business and Economics of Barcelona University will host a conference on artistic direction in the film and video game industry

The Workroom Barcelona Films & Games Art Direction conference will take place in the main lecture hall of the Faculty of Business and Economics of Barcelona University from the 20th to the 22nd of February, and will offer a series of conferences, debates and round table discussions for amateurs and professionals from the audio-visual sector who wish to explore new ideas and experiences in artistic direction in the film and video game industry.

This is the first conference of its kind in Europe and will include master classes by some of the foremost artists in the audio-visual industry. Attendees will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with the likes of Marcelo Vignali, current art director in Sony Pictures Animation, Carles Grangel, creator of styles and characters for directors such as Tim Burton and Steven Spielberg, Antxon Gómez, art director known for his collaborations with Pedro Almodóvar and winner of a Goya Award for the film Che: The Argentine, and Daniel Pérez, art director for the video game development company Digital Legends.

The discussions will include presentations on audio-visual techniques and formats by employees of video game and film production companies and there will also be a section dedicated to exhibiting works previously presented by the attendees.
