When art meets science leads to exhibitions like 'The museum explores. Works of art under examination' at the MNAC.
'The art museum explora.Obres consideration' proposes a journey that reveals mysteries, unmasks false works and deepens the knowledge of some outstanding works from the collection of MNAC, discovering the interdisciplinary research work that the museum has made over the years, often in collaboration with external experts from different fields.
The exhibition, curated by Mireia Mestre, offers insights into the world of research on art and learn how to analyze, identify data or a play. At the same time, it gives us the opportunity to meet the research work carried out by museum professionals around the artwork and show the convergence and complementarity that occurs in this context between science and arts.
The exhibition consists of a selection of 32 cases and displays works from different periods under study by technicians MNAC: wood paintings, sculptures, paintings on canvas and various techniques on paper, photography and jewelry. 'The art museum explora.Obres consideration' will be the MNAC until February 24 and admission is free.
