Peter Stamm

The writer Peter Stamm is the guest at the 'Parlem amb...' cycle of conversations

Jordi Nopca is to lead the discussion at Biblioteca Jaume Fuster

As part of its commitment to promoting literature, Biblioteca Jaume Fuster hosts a number of talks and get-togethers with the aim of exploring new perspectives on the world of books and their authors. A large number of writers have therefore appeared at the library to talk about their works and discuss literary matters with the public. The next guest in this cycle is Peter Stamm (Weinfelden, 1963), a tireless explorer of fields like philology, psychopathology and computer science and a long time resident in Paris and New York, as well as in Scandinavia, and, more importantly, a talented writer who started in his profession in the 1990s.

Stamm has also written for the stage and for television, as well as producing pieces for the literary review Entwürfe für Literatur since 1997. He is currently considered to be one of the most important figures in contemporary German fiction thanks to novels like Agnes (1998), Unformed Landscape (2001), On a Day Like This (2006), Seven Years (2009), All Days Are Night (2013) and his collections of short stories Black Ice (1999), Strange Gardens (2003), We’re Flying (2008) and The Ridge (2011).

This meeting with Stamm will take place on 4 October at 7pm at Biblioteca Jaume Fuster. Admission is free though places (on a first come, first served basis) are limited.
