The Lumínic lands in Barcelona

In its second edition, the independent photography festival brings three exhibitions to the city.

It was born in 2019 in Sant Cugat del Vallès, in 2020 it could not be celebrated, and in 2021, although the epicenter is still the city of Vallès, the Lumínic independent photography festival can also be seen in Barcelona. It does so with three exhibitions, which you will find in the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, in the Visual Korner space and in Casa Golferichs.

The exhibition at the Museu Nacional, open until May 2, is called Després del record, and the author of the images is Manel Úbeda. The photographer shows black and white panoramas of the Montjuïc theme park when it was already closed to the public. The leisure space rolled down its shutters in 1998, leaving behind three decades of fun for families. This exhibition is made in collaboration with Photographic Social Vision, an entity dedicated to documentary photography. In Visual Korner you can see, between April 15 and May 19, El bosque oxidado, by Xavier Millan, a series conceived as a story with the intention of showing the parallel universe that coexists with ours, and how nature will rise renewed, primitive and ancestral. If you enter the exhibition in El Xalet at Casa Golferichs you will get to know the snapshots of the streets of Tottenham made by Inzajeano Latif, a city, as it is explained in the program, "where the fighting for basic opportunities and survival never ends perpetuating the systemic socio-economic conflicts and favouring the creation of ghettos, spaces of great precariousness that need an urgent transformation".
