An approach to drawing. Do It Yourself

Do It Yourself Drawing, techniques of publishing, collage and contemporary visual culture

The proposal consists of approaching contemporary visual culture through drawing and from the resources of the Do It Yourself culture: cheap, agile, fast, ephemeral, the idea of recycling, urgently. We will use editing and collage techniques in a process that consists of extracting images from our environment (magazines, fanzines or various publications) to make them our own by drawing.

Azucena Vieites

Artist and associate professor at the Faculties of Fine Arts (UCM and USAL). Among her individual exhibitions are Hey Baby !, Box27 (Palma, 2018); Woollen Body, Galeria Carreras Múgica (Bilbao, 2015) and Tableau Vivant, Museo Reina Sofía (Madrid, 2013). She has collaborated with her drawings in numerous publications. Co-founder of Erreakzioa-Reacción in 1994, a project between art and feminism.
