The City Police will be joining in with the various activities at the party organised by the Associació d’Amics del Castell de Montjuïc, with activities at the Children’s Traffic Park belonging to the corps and located in C/ Cartoixa.
The Safety Education Service will be offering a workshop on safe cycling at the traffic circuit from 10 am to 3 pm. The City Police Mounted Unit will also be taking part with a display from 10.30 am to 1 pm, while the Dog Group will be offering a demonstration between 10.30 am and 11 am.
With the “Coexistence is easy” party, the organisers seek to raise awareness about the role of security and emergency corps and offer a recreational day for children of different origins and cultures in vulnerable situations. The event is also aimed at children receiving cancer treatment at the Vall d’Hebron and Sant Joan de Déu hospitals, enabling them to get away from hospital routines and enjoy a day of activities and workshops outdoors with their parents and siblings. Admission is free and open to all, with the programme to run from 10 am to 3.30 pm.
Other security corps taking part in the event include the Mossos d’Esquadra, Guardia Civil and Policia Nacional police corps, the armed forces, organisations such as the Creu Roja, Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB), Barcelona Provincial Council and others. Between them they will help young children at the event have fun through games, vehicle and police dog displays and rides on horses.
