La física quàntica, juntament amb la teoria de la relativitat d’Albert Einstein, és una de les grans revolucions del s. XX. El seu formalisme permet descriure els fenòmens físics que tenen lloc a les escales més petites. Analitzarem el seu desenvolupament, començant per les observacions experimentals que la van impulsar. Explorarem els fenòmens de l’entrellaçament i de la no localitat i veurem exemples de tecnologies modernes que estan basades en els principis de la mecànica quàntica: des de la criptografia quàntica fins a la computació i la intel·ligència artificial.
