The workshops are aimed at the over-65s and are given by the illustrator and social educator Elisabeth Justicia, creator of the character Dominga. The aim is to break down stereotypes, offer self-cure strategies, highlight freedom in old age and stand up for the rights and freedoms of senior citizens.
The workshops will be held in each of Barcelona’s districts with groups no more than twenty people and divided into three sessions:
- Old age and ageism
- Self-care and self-esteem
- Free and active ageing
Registration will be conducted at each centre and the calendar of the workshops, starting on 5 May, is as follows:
- Ciutat Vella (Casal Mediterrània): 9 May, at 10.30 am, and 12 and 19 May, at 11.15 am.
- Horta-Guinardó (Casal de Gent Gran Sant Genís): 7, 14 and 21 May, at 5 pm.
- L’Eixample (Casal Montserrat Olivella): 8 and 15 May, at 4.30 pm, and 16 May, at 11 am.
- Gràcia (Casal Penitents): 12, 19 and 26 June, at 11.30 am.
- Sants-Montjuïc (Casal de Gent Gran de Cotxeres de Sants): 30 June and 2 and 4 July, at 10.30 am.
- Sarrià – Sant Gervasi (Casal de Gent Gran Sant Ildefons): 1, 8 and 15 July, at 11 am.
- Nou Barris (Casal Roquetes): 3, 10 and 17 July, at 11 am; (Casal Turó de la Peira) 3, 10 and 17 July, at 5 pm.
- Sant Andreu (Casal de Gent Gran La Palmera): 7, 9 and 11 July, at 11 am.
- Sant Martí (Casal de Persones Grans del Parc Sandaru): 14, 16 and 18 July, at 11 am.
