The summer activity programme for children and teenagers in the city between the ages of 1 and 17 offers 314,665 places, with over a thousand activities to choose from based around recreation, sports, education and culture. This year’s campaign is open to Ukrainian refugee children, to help with their integration. The period for enrolments and subsidy applications opens on 23 April.
Details of the numerous types of summer activities on the “T’estiu molt” programme can be found on the website. They include the sports activities making up the Campus Olímpia, as well as activities based around culture, education, tech, arts, the performing arts and more. All activities in the campaign are adapted for minors with disabilities.
Activities offered for youngsters to enjoy the summer holidays include summer nursery schools for infants up to the age of 3, camps, summer activity camps, sports routes, visual arts workshops and family activities. The activities being organised are subject to the evolution of the health situation and the instructions and restrictions decreed by the authorities.
The start date for the programme of activities is 23 June, and all activities will conclude by 4 September at the latest to adapt to the new start date for the school year.
Help for families in vulnerable situations
This year will see around four million euros invested to cover the subsidies for low-income families, a quantity which will be determined according to the demand for subsidies. Funding will be given for a maximum of one activity for each child in the household, and according to the corresponding weighting bracket. Applicant households must be on the official register as residing in the municipality of Barcelona.
The application period starts on 23 April and ends on 23 May. One new aspect this year is that subsidy applications will be processed online, via the Virtual Procedures Office (OVT).
