Cuidem Barcelona

In 2021, towards the end of the pandemic, the “Cuidem Barcelona” comprehensive public space maintenance plan was launched with the goal of carrying out urgent, intensive projects and responding to city residents’ new uses of public spaces.

In 2022, we worked with local residents to design maintenance plans in each neighbourhood consisting of 2,000 improvement projects in different parts of the city, which came in addition to the deployment of the new works contract. This is an unprecedented initiative that seeks to adapt to the needs of each neighbourhood and promote shared responsibility in the maintenance of public spaces, because we can only take care of our city if everyone is involved.

With this new tool, anyone can follow the maintenance projects taking place in the city's various districts and neighbourhoods throughout 2022–2023. The specific initiatives shown do not represent all maintenance work in public spaces; rather, the viewer features projects that are based on a collective construction process.

This is an interactive, visual tool that combines the map format with a dynamic report that makes it easy to follow all the projects.
