The Museu Marès hosts Barcelona’s traditional nativity scene again

The nativity scene at the Museu Marès is in the traditional style and this year it is inspired by the Montserrat mountain and its surroundings. It is the work of theBarcelona Association of Nativity Scene Builders. Made with natural materials and handcrafted figures, it reproduces the typical scenes: the birth, the annunciation to the shepherds and the arrival of the Kings of the Orient. This year’s nativity scene is decorated with olive trees, highlighting their importance in a Mediterranean landscape like ours.

The visit to the nativity scene is complete and has a distinct Christmas feel with the Christmas carols that will be performed by the choirs of the Catalonia Children’s Choirs Secretariat.

Dates: from 29 November to 2 February

Times: Tuesday to Saturday, 10 am to 7 pm. Sunday, 11 am to 8 pm. Closed Mondays. From 24 December to 6 January the closing time will be 9 pm. On 25 December and 1 January the Museum will be closed.
