The Institute of Culture has opened the registration period for volunteers wishing to take part in the Three Kings Parade on 5 January. Anybody over the age of eight can apply using this form (up to 12 noon on 25 November).
There are four different categories for this year’s edition, organised by age and involving a diverse array of tasks: two types of pages, assistants and technical collaborators.
Pages for floats. From 8 to 10 years old (as of 1 January 2020) and no taller than 140 cm. Dressed suitably, these pages will wave to the public from the ‘Welcome to Barcelona’ float during the parade.
Pages accompanying floats. From 11 to 13 years old (as of 1 January 2020). Dressed suitably, these pages will wave to the public from any of the floats during the parade.
Entourage assistants. From 14 to 17 years old (as of 1 January 2020). Dressed suitably, these assistants will push props around the 5 km route during the 3-hour parade.
Technical collaborators. From 18 to 99 years old (as of 1 January 2020). Dressed suitably, these assistants will provide support along the 5 km route during the 3-hour parade. This may include acting as stewards around the entourage, pushing artistic elements forming part of the parade and other technical functions relating to the organisation of the event.
Only one registration in one category per person will be accepted, according to age. The organisers will contact the people chosen. To take part in the parade, volunteers must attend the information sessions and rehearsals (between one and three) for their category.
