The Three Kings arrive in Barcelona

The Three Kings and their entourage are also on time for their annual visit to the city at this time of year. They have confirmed that they will arrive by sea with the Santa Eulalia boat, and that the mayor, Ada Colau, will receive them at 4 pm at the Portal de la Pau, offering them bread and salt as a symbol of hospitality and welcome, and will hand them the keys to the city so that they can enter all the houses. The parade will start at 6 pm, leaving from Avinguda Marqués de la Argentera, and will follow a new route to avoid the works on the Via Laietana. In agreement with the Royal House of the Orient, an itinerary has been designed that will take Passeig Colom, continue along Avinguda Paral-lel and go up Ronda Sant Pau and Carrer Urgell, turn down Carrer Sepúlveda until it reaches Avinguda Reina Maria Cristina and end at the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc after 9 pm. Six of the floats in the parade will be new, including those of the Three Kings, floats up to 20 metres long, full of gadgets and equipped with the latest technology.

The parade will be made possible thanks to more than a thousand assistants to the Three Kings, including dancers, actors, stilt walkers and volunteers, the participation of around twenty organisations and schools in the city and a dozen professional companies. As in previous years, the Cavalcade will be especially inclusive, with the participation of organisations with people with functional diversity and the introduction of sign language in the choreographies of the show.
