Cursa de la Mercè Bimbo Global Race

Once again, the La Mercè Fun Run is demonstrating its commitment to solidarity by donating all the proceeds from registration fees to a social cause. This year, all the money raised will go to Alzheimer Catalunya Foundation, an organisation that supports people affected by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, and those who care for them.

The proceeds will help fund a project to identify, address and tackle the abuse of vulnerable elderly people, with the aim of ensuring physical, financial and social well-being, and repairing the damage caused to those affected, and their families.

Furthermore, the collection of the disposable white chips handed out during the race is another initiative that combines charity and sustainability. For each chip recovered, €0.80 will be donated to the Alzheimer Catalunya Foundation, while also helping to prevent the pollution generated by their manufacture and disposal.

The chips can be deposited in the baskets provided at the finish line. Even if in the end you’re not able to take part in the race, you can still help – you’ll have a week to return your white chip to the Barcelona Institute of Sports (Av. de l’Estadi, 40 · 08038 Barcelona), either in person or by post.
