General information for all participants in the 2025 Cursa de la Mercè Bimbo Global Race .

Barcelona City Council supports “the race and the care”. No Barcelonian should miss the Cursa de la Mercè – Bimbo Global Race because they are looking after children. That’s why families participating in the race will have access to a free childcare service.
Childcare service details
- For children aged 3 to 11
- Location: A specially designated space near the starting line
- Opening hours: From 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.The service opens one hour before the race starts and runs until 12:00 p.m. Children will be accepted until 8:15 a.m.. After that time, no further drop-offs will be allowed.

After finishing the race and passing through the refreshment area, all participants will be able to enjoy the Bimbo Sandwich Party at Plaça Catalunya, with games, Bimbo products, various activities, and more.

Personal timing and race results
Participants will be able to check their personal race time and download a free official certificate. To do so, visit the Highlights section on the homepage and click the box that appears next to your name. (This service is available only for participants with a timing chip.)
Race-day services
- Sustainable official refreshment station: Provided by Aigües de Barcelona
- Water station at around km 5 and at the finish line: Includes Aigües de Barcelona water, fruit from Fundació Ametller, and Aquarius isotonic drink.
- Bag drop service: located in the parking area of the Historic Building of the University of Barcelona (access via Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, corner with Balmes Street), from 7:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. It is recommended to arrive early.
- Medical assistance: Available throughout the entire course, with a mobile medical unit at the finish line.

Participants can collect their bib, single-use white timing chip, and official race T-shirt at the Athlete Service Fair.
- Location: Pavelló d’Itàlia, at Plaça Carles Buïgas, right in front of the Magic Fountain.
- Opening hours:
- Friday, 19 September: 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (morning) or 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (afternoon)
- Saturday, 20 September: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (morning) or 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (afternoon)
Important information
- Please respect the time slot you selected during registration.
- T-shirt size changes will not be accepted.
- To collect your bib and disposable chip, you must bring:
- Your registration confirmation
- Your ID card or passport
- If collecting on behalf of someone else, bring:
- Their registration confirmation
- A copy of their ID or passport
On the back of the bib, all participants must fill in their personal details.
The phone number provided must belong to an emergency contact, not the participant.

During the registration process, participants will be able to select their T-shirt size:
WOMEN: S – M – L – XL – XXL
MEN: S – M – L – XL – XXL
Important information
- The number of T-shirts available for each size is limited. As each size runs out, the option will be closed automatically.
- T-shirt exchanges will not be possible on the day of pick-up at the Athlete Service Fair.
- The organisation may choose to extend the online registration period beyond 12 September if deemed appropriate.

- Wear comfortable and breathable clothing. Pay special attention to your feet during training and on race day: use proper running shoes.
- On the day of the race, it’s advisable to protect sensitive areas of the feet, and to apply petroleum jelly (Vaseline) to the armpits and inner thighs to prevent chafing.
- Have a light breakfast two to three hours before the race begins.
- Stay hydrated before and during the race.
- Pace yourself throughout the course.
- If you experience severe fatigue or muscle or joint pain during the race, it’s best to stop, rest, and continue when ready. Ignoring these signs could prevent you from completing the distance.

- Metro: L2, L3, L4. Passeig de Gràcia
All registered participants in this year’s Cursa de la Mercè – Bimbo Global Race are entitled to a free round-trip single ticket from any Rodalies Barcelona station with staffed ticket offices.
Valid on Sunday, 21 September:
- Outbound journey: valid until 9:00 a.m.
- Return journey: valid at any time during the day.

- Participants who own a yellow timing chip will automatically be assigned their best official time from the past two years.
- Those who do not have a yellow chip must verify their personal best time at the Athlete Service Fair during its opening days.
- They must present a diploma or official result from a certified 10K race, showing their name and finishing time, recorded between 2023 and 2025.
- Only races officially recognized by the RFEA (Royal Spanish Athletics Federation) or FCA (Catalan Athletics Federation) will be accepted.
- Participants residing in other countries may verify their personal best with an official certificate or result sheet from a race approved by their national athletics federation.
