Daycare service

The Barcelona City Council is committed to La Mercè Race, as well as to caring for children. No Barcelona man or woman should miss the race because they have to care for the children in their care. Therefore, this year, families participating in La Mercè 10K Bimbo Global Race will also have a playful welcome space available near the start. Prior registration is required to enjoy this service.

Characteristics of the service:

  • Targeted at children aged 3 to 11.
  • Location: in a specially designated area near the start.
  • Schedule: From the start of the race until 11:00 am.
  • To request the service: An email should be sent to genereiesport@bcn.cat
  • Deadline: 10 September 2023.

Personal best and ranking:

  • Participants will be able to find out their personal best and download the free certificate from the website of La Mercè 10K Bimbo Global Race.

The day of the race:

  • Sustainable official catering by Aigües de Barcelona.
  • Water supplies at km 5 and the finish line. An isotonic drink will also be offered at the finish line, courtesy of Coca Cola.
  • Checkroom at the Italian pavilion, in Plaza Carles Buïgas, just in front of the Magic Fountain, from 7:00 am to 11:00 am.
  • Medical assistance throughout the circuit and mobile clinic at the finish line run by the Red Cross.

Health recommendations

  • Clothing should be comfortable and breathable. While training before and during the race, special attention must be paid to the feet: appropriate footwear must be worn.
  • On the day of the test, it is advisable to protect the sensitive areas of the feet. The armpits and crotch can also be lubricated with petroleum jelly to prevent chafing.
  • On the day of the race, it is advisable to have a light breakfast about three hours before the race starts.
  • Hydrate: before and during the race.
  • Pace yourself.
  • If you feel intense fatigue or muscle or joint pain during the race, it is best to stop, recover and continue. Failure to do so may result in not being able to finish the race.

Reaching the race

  • It is recommended to use public transportation, both the metro (the España station has elevators) and buses.
  • Everyone registered in this year's La Mercè 10K Bimbo Global Race will be able to get a free single round-trip ticket from any Cercanías Barcelona service station with ticket office sales.
