More than 10,000 runners celebrated the city's biggest festival in the most sporting way possible.

Barcelona vibrated today with the celebration of the 45th edition of la Mercè Bimbo Global Race. Over 10,000 runners gathered on Queen Maria Cristina Avenue to participate in one of the three different race categories.

This year, the competition introduced the Mercè Bimbo Global Youth Race, aimed at children and teenagers born between 2007 and 2011, with two different distances based on age. However, inclusion remained a central pillar of the event, with the continuation of the Mercè 2K Bimbo Global Race, intended for people with intellectual disabilities or reduced mobility.

The partnership with Bimbo that characterized this edition intensified the charitable aspect of the race. In addition to allocating the registration proceeds to the in via Association, which works on preventing and eradicating conditions of inequality and abuse that lead to violence and discrimination, Bimbo will donate 20 slices of bread to the Barcelona Food Bank for each participant.

On the other hand, and for the first time in the history of the competition, an agreement was reached with YAMAHA to financially reward the top three male and female finishers in the 10K race, with prizes of 300, 200, and 100 euros, respectively. Furthermore, if the race record is broken, the prize is supplemented with an additional 300 euros.

Starting and finishing on Queen Maria Cristina Avenue, the race traversed the city's most iconic streets, establishing itself as a leading sports event that combines effort, solidarity, and celebration on a unique day.
