For the eighth consecutive year, Dau Barcelona will once again bring the city to life with this huge games festival. And admission is free of charge. Dau Barcelona is organised by Barcelona City Council, through the Barcelona Institute of Culture.
On 23 and 24 November, from 10 in the morning to 8 at night, hundreds of games for all ages will await you at the Fabra i Coats Creation Factory. Because who doesn't like to play? Maybe we don't do it as often as we'd like, or perhaps we've forgotten how, but when we play, we are equals and we feel more free.
Since the first Dau Barcelona event in 2012, the number of activities, game spaces, participating organisations, and attendees has steadily grown. However, the aim of the event remains the same: to invite families from Barcelona to discover games and play them, and get them to incorporate play into their daily lives. We also bring together everyone who participates in the world of games, so that they can reflect and advance together and, especially, foster the talent of game creators.
Once again this year, Dau Barcelona will expand beyond Sant Andreu and make its presence felt in schools and civic centres across the city during the entire week-long festival. Not only that, there will also be a training workshop for primary and secondary school teachers on the importance of play in the classroom. Because Dau Barcelona consists of games, yes, but also talks, meet the creator sessions, discussion spaces, presentations, prototypes, competitions, championships, and prizes.
Will you come play with us?
Dau Barcelona includes the production of Tempus Fugit.
