Barcelona City Council's Barcelona website has taken account of the following measures to provide users with easier access to all its content and features:

  • Multi-browser

    Pages can be viewed correctly on the several browsers used for the analysis (Mozilla, Internet Explorer, Safari and Chrome).

  • Consistent browsing

    Website consistency is ensured, making browsing coherent on every page and offering a satisfying user experience.

  • Distractions

    Interference such as content flickering, exaggerated blinking and sound that starts automatically is avoided.

  • Text images

    Except for logos or trademark images, content is generally perfectly configurable, given that text images are avoided.

  • Headings

    Page headings the portal and section to provide users with a context.

  • Colour contrast

    The visual characteristics of the website (font, colour, background etc.) have been defined using the style guide. They comply with the WCAG 2.0 guidelines for contrast at Double A level.

  • Forms

    The forms contain the correct labels and associated controls.

  • Language

    The page language is correctly marked up.

  • Social media

    The social media plug-ins are accessible.

  • Audiovisual player

    Audiovisual players are accessible to users for any type of device, keyboard users and blind people.

  • Audiovisuals

    Audiovisuals contain audio-descriptions, descriptions and subtitles.

  • Language style

    The page language is simple and suitable for the public its content is aimed at.

The development of barcelona.cat websites is based on regulation UNE-EN 301549, required by RD 1112/2018, and the WCAG 2.1 web content accessibility guidelines, level AA, established by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
