Mobility and transport. The engine was built at La Maquinista Terrestre i Marítima in 1963, the factory which now lends its name to the park.

A group of former Alstom workers have voluntarily restored an old locomotive from 1963 which was manufactured by La Maquinista Terrestre i Marítima on the company’s site in Sant Andreu de Palomar. The engine will be positioned at the façade of the Fundació Museu Historicosocial de La Maquinista Terrestre i Marítima, located in the Parc de La Maquinista in Sant Andreu.

After it was built, the 1963 locomotive from La Maquinista Terrestre i Marítima was taken from Sant Andreu to Santander, where it was used for work at stations, tanks and workshops on the state rail network. When it was taken out of service, it was transferred to the Alstom premises at Santa Perpètua de Mogoda. The French multinational acquired La Maquinista Terrestre i Marítima and MACOSA in 1989. Four years later, in 1993, the metallurgy company moved from Sant Andreu de Palomar, where the Parc de La Maquinista de Sant Andreu now stands, to Santa Perpètua de Mogoda.
