Groundwater network extension works this summer

Work on the groundwater network between Can Batlló and the Anella Olímpica on Montjuïc is entering a new phase, with the main disruptions in the area around Passeig de la Zona Franca.

  • Carrer del Castell: from 9 to 20 June. Normally reserved for the circulation of buses and services, this street will be completely closed to traffic. Bus 150 will be diverted to the left of Passeig del Migdia and, as it does not reach stop 2315 at the foot of the castle, another provisional stop will be created (no. 9815) in Passeig del Migdia, some 180 metres after the junction closed in Carrer del Castell.
  • Passeig de la Zona Franca, between the streets of Alts Forns and Foneria: from 9 June to 21 July. Work here will take up part of the bike lane, the services row and part of the bus lane, maintaining a bike lane next to the pavement as far as the entrance to the car park at the Mercat de la Marina; from there, cyclists will have to continue on foot on the pavement as far as C/ Foneria. In the central part of the road, the general lane in the direction of Pl. Cerdà will be maintained. Stop 450 (bus lines H16, V3, 109 and N1) will be cancelled once the previous stop has been re-established (no. 44, cancelled in the previous stage of this work). The work crosses C/ Alts Forns on Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11 June, with the junction divided into two halves, maintaining vehicle access to this street at all times from Pg. Zona Franca.
  • Passeig de la Zona Franca, between the streets of Foneria and Mineria: from 22 July to 26 September. Work here takes up part of the bike lane, the services row and part of the bus lane, maintaining a lane that starts 85 metres after C/ Foneria (cyclists must cover this short section on foot, on the pavement, during the first weeks of this stage). In the central part of the road, the general lane in the direction of Pl. Cerdà will be maintained. Stop 867 (bus lines H16, V3, 109 and 125) will be cancelled once the previous stop has been re-established (no. 450, cancelled in the previous stage of this work).
  • Carrer de la Mineria, between Passeig de la Zona Franca and the entrance to the Parc de Can Sabaté: from 10 to 20 June. Work will take up part of the pavement on the side nearest the sea, maintaining the pedestrian route along the façades (and the row of parking and services if necessary). This is a branch of the watering system for the Parc de Can Sabaté, but the central section goes along the Besòs side of Passeig de la Zona Franca and must cross C/ Mineria: this will be done on Wednesday 25 (closure of the side of the road in the direction of the Besòs) and on Thursday 26 June (side in the direction of the Llobregat). On these days, bicycles can enter and exit C/ Mineria using a narrower two-way bike lane. The stop for the 125 bus and the L16 terminal will be moved.
  • Plaça d’Ildefons Cerdà: the side lane of Gran Via in the direction of the Llobregat, before reaching the square, will be closed on Tuesday 19 August, from 8 am to 6 pm. Motor vehicles will be diverted towards Av. Carrilet or C/ Química, cyclists can get to Pl. Cerdà using the bike lane and crossing on the pavement. Buses 46, 65, 109, H12, H16, L80, L86, L70, L94, X70, X86 and X80 will be diverted along C/ Química, C/ Mineria and Pg. Zona Franca. On that day, bus stop no. 183 will be cancelled and a provisional stop created in C/ Química (no. 3527).
