Over 5,000 children take part in the School Biathlon 2025 in Montjuïc
The event brought together 6th-year primary school students from 129 centres for an event combining swimming and running.
Barcelona again hosted one of the most notable educational and sports events on the school calendar on Monday, 27 May: the School Biathlon 2025, an initiative promoted by BCN Esports that turned the Olympic facilities in Montjuïc into a grand celebration or sport.
Between 8.30 am and 2 pm, 5,222 pupils in their sixth year of primary school (11 to 12 years old) from 129 schools took part in this combined event, which included a swimming section at the Piscines Bernat Picornell and a running section at the Esplanada Olímpica.
The School Biathlon is not just a sports event, as it also has a social and educational dimension to it. The main goal of the day is to introduce children to the characteristics of a combined event, such as those in a triathlon or biathlon, and promote personal self-improvement and teamwork.
