On Friday 26 May, Sant Andreu Contemporani will announce the winners of the Miquel Casablancas Award Visual Arts Competition 2017 in a ceremony held on the first floor of the Fabra i Coats - Contemporary Art Centre of Barcelona, and will also officially open the exhibition, An Ideal World. The Anthropocene’s Supermarket, which includes all the finalist projects in the Work category of the Miquel Casablancas Award 2017, as well as the finalist dossiers of the other categories: Project, Publication and Graphic Communication.

In this edition, the Miquel Casablancas Award has received 319 applications, which have been reviewed by a jury formed by Julia Morandeira (independent curator), Jesús Alcaide (independent curator) and Antoni Hervàs (artist), each with the right to vote, and also by members of the Sant Andreu District and the Sant Andreu Contemporani team, each with the right to speak but with no vote.

The exhibition will also present the work of the artists who participated in the SAC-FiC Residencies Programme 2016: Santiago Doljanin, Alexandra Garcia and Shani Bar.

The winners of the Miquel Casablancas Award Visual Arts Competition 2017 will be announced during the ceremony, which will be held at 20:00 on the first floor of the Fabra i Coats - Contemporary Art Centre of Barcelona.
