On Mediation
On Mediation is a training platform for curatorial practices, connected to the research group Art Globalization Interculturality (UB). For the 2017-2018 edition, the practical phase involves an exercise linked to the Raw Material exhibition to further its aim to create a map of mid-career contemporary artists in the local context. Within this framework, the exercise developed by the work group consists of in-depth interviews with all the artists involved in the Raw Material exhibition. These interviews are interesting in that they reveal more details of the trajectory and tenor of the work of each of the artists, so that the vision as a whole transcends the mere presentation of the exhibition’s projects. Furthermore, a publication has been edited, which introduces vocabulary taken from the artists’ replies, with the purpose of making this map of concepts a sort of textual recreation of the actual Raw Material exhibition.
