Claire North

Claire North, born in London in 1986, is the literary pseudonym of Catherine Webb, a prolific author of fantasy fiction who has won the John W. Campbell Memorial Award and has been nominated for the Arthur C. Clarke and World Fantasy Awards. In her Songs of Penelope trilogy, she reimagines Greek myths from the perspective of women, using bold, political and deeply human prose. This powerful retelling gives flesh and depth to mythical characters: Penelope and the goddesses and women around her become fully human. The final volume of the trilogy, The Last Song of Penelope, has just been published. Her novel Notes from the Burning Age has been translated into Catalan.
