Daniel Genís Mas, born in Castelló d’Empúries in 1977, is a writer and secondary school teacher, with degrees in Catalan and Hispanic languages and literatures and a PhD in literature. He has worked as an advisor for the science fiction collection at Pagès Editors and ‘L’Arcà’ at Laertes Editorial and spent over a decade directing the Catalan fantasy literature portal El Biblionauta. After making his fantasy début with Uns déus ferotges [Fierce Gods], he’s now back with El dimoni abans de nosaltres [The Devil Before Us], a modern reimagining of the myth of the pact with the devil.
