Esther Cross, born in Buenos Aires in 1961, is a writer and translator. Her books include short-story collections and novels such as La divina proporción [The Divine Proportion], Tres hermanos [Three Brothers], Radiana, La señorita Porcel [Miss Porcel], La mujer que escribió Frankenstein [The Woman Who Wrote Frankenstein] and the newly reprinted Kavanagh. Together with Félix della Paolera, she has also published books of interviews with Borges and with Bioy Casares. Since 2023, she has been a member of the Argentine Academy of Letters. She has received the First, Fortabat, Regional and Municipal awards, as well as the Fulbright–Fondo Nacional de las Artes and Civitella Ranieri fellowships.
