Mar García Puig

Mar García Puig, born in Barcelona in 1977, holds an undergraduate degree in English language and literature and a master’s degree in linguistics. She is the author of La història dels vertebrats [The History of Vertebrates], which won the City of Barcelona Award, the No Llegiu Prize and the Vanity Fair Award for Breakthrough Author. Also published in Spanish, it will soon be translated into French, English and Portuguese and adapted for cinema. Following this success, she’s now back with Això tan tenebrós [This Dark Thing], an essay about literature, women, metaphors and their hidden power. An editor and translator by profession, she has contributed to media outlets such as El País, La Vanguardia, El Periódico, El Diario and Público, and she presents a regular segment on the Catalunya Ràdio programme Les dones i els dies
