Marc Morote
Marc Morote is a playwright and theatre director, and the founder of the company Aplauso Atrás. As a writer, he is best known for his short plays, some of which have received awards and been selected for festivals – including La playa [The Beach] (winner of the 1st TeatrIEM Short Scientific Theatre Award organised by the CSIC in Madrid) and Un petit gest [A Small Gesture] (winner of the 6th La Violeta Short Play Competition). As a director, he has also premièred full-length works such as Barco de papel, una crónica del exilio [Paper Boat: A Chronicle of Exile] and A cielo abierto [Under the Open Sky], a radio play co-directed with the Polford company. He worked as assistant director to Sergi Belbel and Cristina Clemente on Dolors [Pains] (Teatre Lliure, 2019) and Monroe-Lamarr (TNC, 2020). Morote teaches writing and acting to children and young people at Talentis, The Collective, Estudi Karloff and the Escola Sant Felip Neri, and regularly leads workshops.
