Rosa Montero, born in Madrid in 1951, is a journalist and psychologist by training, and the author of around twenty books for both adults and children. Fans of speculative fiction know her best for the Bruna Husky series, which began in 2011 with Lágrimas en la lluvia [Tears in Rain] and saw the publication of the fourth instalment, Animales difíciles [Difficult Animals], in 2025. As a writer, she has received numerous awards, including the National Prize for Literature, the Qué Leer Award and the Grinzane Cavour Prize, as well as accolades for her journalism, such as the National Journalism Prize, the Rodríguez Santamaría Prize and El Mundo’s Journalism Award. Her work has been translated into more than twenty languages.
