pasionaria

What idea of progress is being imposed on us? Towards what artificial world are they pushing us? A reflection on this through dance, a company that proposes to take a look at a future without passions.

The efforts of Humanity during the last years have managed to take us to that place we know as "progress". It is a planet that we could baptize with the name of Pasionaria, a space in which human beings live like us, or almost like us. They have been designed to imitate us, but they have lost the ability to be passionate, because they are technological devices that form an artificial landscape, clean and aseptic, but absolutely lacking of humanity.

A critical look at the world to come where individualism and moral cowardice are rising values. Is this the future we want? We are invited to think about this by  a group created in 2005 by Marcos Morau and one of the youngest companies that in recent years have achieved more and more national and international projection. Among his latest creations, there are shows like Manolita Chen (seen at the Beijing Dance Theater), Tundra or Rothko Chapel.

A co-production of el Grec 2018 Festival de Barcelona, Temporada Alta – Festival de Tardor de Catalunya (Girona – Salt), Teatros del Canal (Madrid), Théâtre National de Chaillot (Paris), Les Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg (Luxemburg), Sadler's Wells (London), Tanz Im August HAU Hebbel am Ufer (Berlin), Oriente Occidente Dance Festival (Rovereto, Italy), Mercat de les Flors (Barcelona).

With the collaboration of Graner, centre de creació.
