Aparicions Sonores

The Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA) adds two proposed performances to the Festival programme in addition to two dance shows that were rescheduled following the suspension of the Metropolitan Dance Fortnight.

This will be an intense two days in which dance and movement, but also performance, will play a prominent role. The MACBA Chapel is currently getting ready to perform these four shows under the conditions ordered by the health authorities:

Aparicions sonores
Have you ever heard of synaesthesia? It is an unusual association of the senses under which, for example, hearing a particular note can cause a person to think of a colour. Starting from this concept, Aparicions sonores explores the possible choreographic and plastic dimensions of sound and the body, shaping and giving plasticity to sound, and adding sound to the body, space and objects. The line of perception between the thing being generated and the way it is produced is constantly adrift and fluctuating, leaving open a sensory field that gives rise to a variety of meanings and associations.
This is the stage proposal of a choreographer and dancer who graduated from Codarts University for the Arts in Rotterdam, Netherlands, in 2004. She has worked in the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain with artists including Bruno Listopad, Ola Maciejewska, Cris Blanco and El Conde de Torrefiel, to name but a few. She has lived in Barcelona since 2011, where she was a member of the La Poderosa ARTAS platform (2013-2016). She has written choreography works such as Lo natural, Hacia una estética de la buena voluntad and Mix-en-scene.
A co-production of the Centro de Danza Canal, La Caldera and the Antic Teatre
