17th Quim Masó Award

17th Quim Masó Award

New edition of the award aimed at supporting theatrical production. With the collaboration of the Grec Festival.

Actor, director and theatre producer Quim Masó , founder of Talleret de Salt, Grup Proscenium, the bookshop Llibreria 22 and Girona-based theatre production company Bitò, lends his name to an annual initiative that aims to promote professional staging projects. The prize is awarded to the most creative and highest quality Catalan-language productions from among the projects presented. Since 2019, the award has been organised by the Fundació La Ciutat Invisible, dedicated to the promotion of culture in general, and the performing arts in particular. It has previously recognized projects by companies such as La Calòrica and authors such as Lluïsa Cunillé, Josep Maria Miró and Albert Arribas, among others.

On June 1, the call for proposals for the new edition will open until June 30, aimed at producers and companies. It will be possible to present staging projects of original texts that have not been premiered, whether they are originally written in Catalan or they are translations or adaptations of texts written in another language.

A jury made up of professionals from the performing arts world will choose from among the stage productions presented as candidates for the award, works that have yet to be performed, and that if selected, will receive an economic contribution for the production and premiere, and will be included on the programme for the Grec Festival and Temporada Alta 2024.
