Institut del Teatre Awards

Every year, Barcelona’s Institut del Teatre, along with other city institutions like the Grec Festival de Barcelona, offers awards recognising the efforts of young creators, performers and choreographers.

The Grec Festival de Barcelona partners with the Institut del Teatre by including two awards granted by this educational institution in the festival:

Dance Award

Every year, a jury comprised of dance and performing arts professionals, professional choreographers and members of the Institut del Teatre reward the efforts of young choreographers and the performers that bring their dances to the stage in an effort to foster the professionalisation of their talent. The winning project in each edition receives a monetary award for the production, in addition to the possibility of displaying the choreography in a professional setting, like the Grec Festival de Barcelona.

Adrià Gual Award

The Institut del Teatre offers the Adrià Gual Award every year to promote the work of young creators and performers. Each year, the winning project receives monetary assistance for production and display in order to share the artists’ talent and thus facilitate their job placement. In addition to a monetary award, the winners also have the chance to show their work at the Grec Festival de Barcelona, as long as it fits the artistic lines and criteria established.
