Grec 2025 begins a new chapter with an open, committed and city-connected outlook

Grec 2025, running from June 26 to August 4, marks the beginning of a new chapter under the direction of Leticia Martín Ruiz, whose programme highlights the performing arts as a critical and poetic tool.

Montjuïc reaffirms its role as the heart of the festival, with a standout programme at the Teatre Grec, which opens with Marie and Yoann Bourgeois collaborating with singer-songwriter Pomme on a show for all audiences.

The Teatre Grec’s programme is completed with names from the local and international scene such as Clara Peya, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Max Richter, and Tiago Rodrigues.

Grec 2025 welcomes international figures like William Kentridge, Milo Rau, Carolina Bianchi, and Christos Papadopoulos, presenting contemporary works that explore new narratives and scenic boundaries, while addressing today's fears.

Artists such as Lisaboa Houbrechts, Mario Banushi, Eline Arbo, and Ligia Lewis visit Barcelona for the first time, bringing the fresh perspective of a new generation of European stage creation.

From a local perspective, Grec remains connected to companies rooted in the city, such as Agrupación Señor Serrano, Mula, Núria Andorrà, IndiGest, Irene Vicente Sala, Raquel Gualtero, and Helena Tornero.

In an edition that embraces the entire city as its stage, more than 50 venues across Barcelona will host festival events. Its programme fosters connections between cultural institutions and the local artistic fabric, strengthened through networking and collaboration among cultural agents.

Grec 2025 is born with the aim of putting the multifaceted gaze of artists at the service of the public and the city. The festival seeks to be a meeting space where unique experiences can be shared, stories connected with, and the summer nights enjoyed to the fullest.
