Professional Grec

The festival is a space for showcasing performances, a meeting point for professionals, and an ideal setting to reimagine the future of the performing arts.

Some attend the Grec as spectators who are there for work... This does not only apply to actors, directors, or technical crews but also to critics, programmers, and presenters from around the world, who are always on the lookout for a new production or live arts performance. You can find them in the theatres and at events such as Grec_Pro and the Meet the Authors sessions organised by Fundació SGAE.
 

Grec_Pro

Grec_Pro, the professional strand of the 2025 Barcelona Grec Festival, connects local and international creators and programmers and aims to showcase the talent emerging from Barcelona and Catalonia. It is a space designed to foster collaboration and shared projects between diverse artists and between artists and programmers. It also seeks to rethink the present and future of the live arts from global and innovative perspectives while exploring current trends and the challenges facing the sector. Participants can attend performances scheduled during Grec_Pro, experience the impact of innovative dramaturgy and site-specific interventions that transform the everyday, and take part in tours that introduce them to factories, creative spaces across the city, and artistic centres leading mediation projects, showing how support is provided to Barcelona’s creative sector.
 

Ressonàncies del Grec

The Grec is also a meeting point for playwriting and those who work in the field. You will meet some of these people, playwrights presenting work in this year’s edition of the festival, at Ressonàncies del Grec. Converses amb creadors internacionals, a series of meet-the-writer sessions organised by the Fundació SGAE during the Grec, offering a chance to get a feel for contemporary playwriting. You may have read and enjoyed many works by a particular writer, but you will likely see them in a new light if you share some of the secrets behind their creative process.
