Grand Canyon

From July 6 to August 3On a scorching summer night in a village in rural Catalonia, an immigrant prostitute working the motorway witnesses a fatal accident after a party at a politician’s house. That same night, Ruby, an eighteen-year-old trap singer will get in trouble with the law due to the lyrics of one of her songs. Meanwhile, her father, Pere, a man in his fifties who once dreamed of becoming a rock star, is diagnosed with a terminal illness. He comes to the painful realisation that he has wasted his life, that despite wanting to be everything, he’s a nobody, that he has always been too afraid and never dared to live out his dream of travelling Route 66 to the Grand Canyon. But with the limited time he has left, he understands that even the smallest actions can move mountains and that he can still try to do everything he hasn’t done, and do it right. And pave the way for those who come after him. And fulfil his dream. And begin the journey to the Grand Canyon, the final stop on his life’s path.
