Carlos Sarduy is undoubtedly one of the most active and versatile musicians on the Barcelona scene, and especially at the Jamboree, where he has presented various projects in recent months. This time, he is back with The Groove Messengers, and as the name suggests, they are exploring the most rhythmic sounds of African-North American music. Sarduy is a versatile musician with a prolific career. He is well-known for his collaborations with Chucho and Bebo Valdés, Steve Coleman, David Murray, Esperanza Spalding, Buika, Mariza, Ainhoa Arteta and Ojos de Brujo, among others, as well as for his excellent solo career.
Once again, Plaça Reial's jazz club becomes a Barcelona Grec Festival venue with a selection of great artists who, like Carlos Sarduy & The Groove Messengers, offer us a taste of how jazz on each side of the Atlantic Ocean has evolved.
