Rhythms as diverse as soul, funk, jazz, and rhythm and blues are integrated into the sound of an artist who has been an outstanding source of inspiration for hip hop and he is one of the most sampled in the world. We are talking about the saxophonist Maceo Parker, a fundamental artist who has left an impossible to erase imprint in the history of soul, funk and jazz during nearly fifty years of career. He, who received the invaluable influence of the great James Brown, has been a traveling companion of George Clinton and collaborated with Prince, has spent two decades leading a solo career that has become synonymous with funk music. Indee, he is a musical institution but, thanks in part to its collaborations with artists like Ani DiFranco, De La Soul or Red Hot Chilli Peppers, among many others, and he is also an essential name among the younger generations.
