Post Tenebras Lux

Carlos Reygadas. Retrospective

Filmoteca de Catalunya

De Grec a Grec

Familiar and strange at the same time, the universe inhabited by the characters of this film takes us back to the essence of the director's work and speaks, in a radical way, about loss of innocence. Best Director Award at the 2012 Cannes Festival

Juan, his wife and their two children decide to move from the city to the country. In their new life, they create their own world, which sometimes integrates and complements their surroundings and sometimes seems to oppose it. A comparison between city life and a rural existence where life seems to be harder and crueller.

The Filmoteca de Catalunya accompanies the Barcelona Grec Festival on its journey to Latin America, and investigates the work of Mexican director Carlos Reygadas, with a retrospective that includes his six feature films, including Post Tenebras Lux.
